Testosterone Therapy: These Tiny Pellets Pack Huge Punch

By July 14, 2020November 1st, 2021No Comments5 min read

Ladies, today we’re talking about testosterone! Now, I know what you’re thinking. Isn’t testosterone more of a “guy problem?” Not quite. While testosterone is technically the primary male sex hormone, it’s also a critical component in women’s health and wellness, especially as
we get older.

We’re going to cover just how essential testosterone is for women, what happens to us when we don’t have enough, and how new advances in medicine like testosterone pellets are revolutionizing the lives of women just like, you across the country.

Testosterone and You

Have you ever wondered what gives women flawless glowing skin? Testosterone! It stimulates the skin to produce more oil, so our skin stays young and wrinkle-free. Testosterone also keeps our strands thick and silky smooth. It’s even a key component in maintaining strong, healthy
bones.

Hormones work sort of like locks and keys. Testosterone has a unique shape that can only bind to special receptors to activate. Since both the vagina and clitoris have testosterone receptors, testosterone production plays a massive role in the sexual health, function, and satisfaction of
women.

Many ladies don’t’ realize that testosterone is a precursor to estrogen. They also work together to produce a chemical called serotonin. Serotonin is commonly referred to as “The Happy Chemical” because it’s responsible for us feeling a sense of well-being and joy.

Hormones require a delicate balance, or our entire world can turn upside down. We’ll start feeling anxious, irritable, angry, sad, and depressed. Unfortunately, women can experience a decrease in testosterone levels starting as early as in our 30s.

These days women are living longer, which is fantastic. In fact, according to the US Census Bureau, our average life expectancy is 85! However, living longer can also mean more years
spent in menopause. By some estimates, we could live approximately one-third of our lives either in or after menopause. During menopause, both hormones drastically decline, resulting in
several uncomfortable and unwelcome changes to our mind, body, and spirit.

Testosterone Pellets Could be the Answer

When it comes to testosterone, my rule of thumb has always been, If you can’t make it, take it! The beauty of bio-identical hormones is that it’s chemical mirrors the shape and function of the testosterone we naturally produce. Your body can’t tell the difference!

At Total Health and Wellness, our natural hormone replacement therapy helps women deal with the following issues.

● Mood swings
● Migraines and menstrual headaches
● Anxiety and depression
● Memory and concentration
● Vaginal dryness
● Urinary urgency and frequency
● Incontinence
● Increases muscle strength and bone density
● Weight gain
● Helps prevent Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cardiovascular diseases, and other health complications.

In many ways, pellet therapy is pretty similar to inserting a new set of ovaries. Many of my clients start treatment because of how successful testosterone pellets can be at conquering common menopausal symptoms like,

● Low libido
● Hot flashes
● Night sweats
● Bloating
● Fatigue
● Forgetfulness

Pellets also dramatically improve your sex life. Some of the bedroom benefits of starting therapy
include

● Improve sexual well-being
● Increase sexual performance
● Improve sexual desire
● Amplify pleasure and arousal
● Encourage more intense and frequent orgasms

Every office does things a little bit differently, but the entire process is typically quick and easy. At Total Health, we like to have each of our clients take an initial blood panel so that I can get a clear picture of your current hormone levels. I’ll use the information I learn from your results,
along with your symptoms, to prescribe the optimal dosage for your testosterone pellet.

Then, I simply implant the pellets directly under the skin (typically by the buttocks), and then you’re good to go! Most ladies begin noticing results in as little as one to two weeks after implantation. It takes around 3-4 months for the pellets to completely dissolve, and I check on
your progress throughout your journey.

Like virtually all medical procedures testosterone therapy can have mild side effects, which include

● Deepening voice
● Acne
● Hair thinning

However, I always tell my clients not to worry too much. The possibility of developing side effects is incredibly low if you’re working with a qualified physician. In my experience, the key is to administer the optimal dosage for you. Often, we can prevent side effects from occurring if we
keep your hormones within a normal range.

What are you waiting for?

I’ve always believed that life doesn’t even begin until after turning 40! That means for most women, menopause could be the best years of our lives. Yet, so many women say entering menopause makes them feel like they’ve lost a little bit of themselves. Well, I’m here to tell you that hormone replacement therapy could give you your life back.

If you’re curious and want to learn more, just give me a call. We’ll chat about your symptoms and discuss all of your options. For many women, medication is just one part of the journey to better health and wellness. I can design a holistic treatment program that includes a comprehensive nutrition and exercise plan to get you in the best shape of your life. All you need to do is take the first step, and call the office or schedule a Telehealth visit for a consultation.
